I graduated with my BA in English from Lynchburg College in 2014 and went on to earn my MA in English from Auburn University in 2016. Raised primarily in Frederick, I consider myself a native Marylander whose ambition and love of travel drives me to new places in pursuit of education, experience, and engaging writing.
I have spent time in London and Ramstein-Miesenbach, Germany earning academic credit and allowing both cities to shape my poetry and travel writing pursuits. Both experiences heavily inform my world viewpoint and writing. Most recently, I've returned from exploring New Zealand, where I had the pleasure of vanning from Auckland to Dunedin during the adventure of a lifetime. Travel and writing are passions integral to my identity, and so I yearn more than anything to interact with kindred spirits who consider writing not just an ability, but part of the fabric of their very being.

I have experience working in academic publishing as a Content Project Manager; teaching undergraduate core literature and composition courses; reviewing manuscripts and composing press releases for Old Line Publishing; serving as Program Assistant for a campus research publication, Auburn Speaks; and acting as Assistant Copy Editor and contributor to three literary publications—Southern Humanities Review, The Prism, and The Aurous (for which I was the Creative Writing Director). My first poem is published in the 2015 edition of Helix Magazine.
I am currently pursuing my career in writing as a full-time Technical Proposal Writer for a technology and management consulting firm located in Historic Downtown Frederick, MD. I also work as a bookseller, a Lead Sales Associate in the retail industry, and a freelance editor. Please reach out if you feel that my freelance services would meet your ideal needs. I'd love to chat with you!
My goals have consistently lured me southward—first, to the Blue Ridge Mountain region of Virginia, where I completed my undergraduate degree in Lynchburg and then to Auburn, Alabama to more deeply explore my passions for writing and editing. My studies were focused primarily toward developing writing as a craft, and exploring all manner of technical, creative, and literature-centered rhetorical approaches. My favorite courses taught me to analyze Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are through
